Our Leadership Team
Reese was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. After attending Portland State University, she spent several years in the financial world as a Corporate Educator and Manager. With a lingering passion for the fashion and beauty industry she finally made the decision to leave her corporate lifestyle and attended Gene Juarez Academy where she earned her cosmetology license. Her goal was to start her own business by opening a salon and create a brand where the environment would allow artists to express their love for their industry and where she could facilitate the best environment for them to continue to grow. At the same time provide a place where her clients would receive the best customer service and an award winning style.
Burke was born in Boise Idaho but spent most of his childhood in small town Southern, Oregon. After attending Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma where he graduated with a degree in accounting he started working as an auditor for Ernst & Young. He was offered a position with ConocoPhillips as a financial manager and spent 5 years with a team managing the West Coast Operation. Having an entrepreneurial spirit he left ConocoPhillips and purchased Remedy Intelligent Staffing in Tacoma. Through 17 years of ownership Burke has grown Remedy to a multi-state operation with five offices and has become one of the most acclaimed owners in the franchise division. He has a love for Tacoma and was eager to invest in Subculture.
Living in the Stadium District of Tacoma, Adri loves to make her city beautiful through her work. Obtaining her cosmetology license from Gene Juarez Academy, she made the decision to attend the instructor training program and became an educator for Gene Jaurez. Influencing many new stylist in her five years with the company she yearned for more. She made the decision to go back into the salon industry as a stylist. Her passion for for her craft is strong and forever growing. Her focus is on coloring, working with blondes and long hair. Adri dedicates herself to both her clients and her education. She was thrilled to come be a part of Subculture and is excited to create something new in the industry.
Director of Education
A Seattle born native Crystal – known as Myleyah in the hair industry – has a fire for learning and teaching about beauty. She knows that this industry has a limitless amount of growth and an inspiration that attracts many different creative people to the beauty industry. She believes that it is her mission to cultivate every style and skill set to their highest potential. The combination of teaching at Gene Juarez Academy coupled with her own freelance work brought an immense amount of understanding and patience for both the guest and the artists needs. She is a firm believer in infectious personalities so her motto is to invoke positivity, progress, patience, humor and fierce hair within everyone. Myleyah is looking forwarding to joining the Subculture team and will be leading the apprenticeship program.
